With the suspect in the mass shooting at a Colorado movie theater in custody, people from the state and beyond are coming together to contemplate the massacre and remember the victims. The shooting, at the midnight showing of "The Dark Knight Rises," killed at least 12 and injured dozens more. According to an official, the semiautomatic assault rifle used by the gunman jammed during the attack, which forced the shooter to switch to another gun with less fire power. Among the deceased are a 6-year-old girl and a man who died on his 27th birthday, a day before his wedding anniversary. Families grieve and wait at hospitals, which report at least seven still in critical condition and others with injuries that are likely permanent. _____ Here are several notable images in the wake of the massacre.
