NEW YORK (AP) — Comments on the Jacksonville Jaguars by the AP Pro32
panel (ranking in parentheses):

___

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (29)

Chris Berman (ESPN, 31) — Game effort on the road.

Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 32) — At least there is hope, with
Blaine Gabbert looking better, and Maurice Jones-Drew back in uniform.

Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 28) — Blaine Gabbert was better.

Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 28) — Improvement from QB
and more of MJD this week ... all positive signs!

Bob Glauber (Newsday, 27) — Blaine Gabbert looked to be much improved
over last season during training camp, and he translated that to the
regular season with a solid performance that included a fourth-quarter
comeback in Minnesota. Too bad for the Jags they couldn't finish the
deal in OT.

Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 29) — Blaine Gabbert looks like a
different quarterback from a year ago. His 260 passing yards in the
opener were a career high.

Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 28) — That Blaine Gabbert touchdown pass
with 20 seconds left in the fourth quarter is the first sign that
maybe, just maybe, these guys knew what they were doing when they
drafted him.

Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 31) — Blaine Gabbert played with
confidence at Minnesota, but here come the Texans and a pass rush that
won't quit.

Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 26) — I saw real
progress from Blaine Gabbert and with MJD back on the field things
should get better.

John Lynch (Fox Sports, 31) — Gabbert has improved at the QB position
and it's nice to have MJD back. Mike Mularkey has a monumental task
ahead of him to turnaround a struggling franchise.

Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 25) — Running back Maurice Jones-Drew is
back in the fold and quarterback Blaine Gabbert has clearly improved
since a disastrous rookie season. That still doesn't erase the sting
of a late collapse at Minnesota.

Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 30) — Jaguars found a way to lose in
Minnesota, and they have to make sure that does not become habitual.
