NEW YORK (AP) — Comments on the Jacksonville Jaguars by the AP Pro32
panel (ranking in parentheses):

___

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (32)

Chris Berman (ESPN, 32) — Will take time.

Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 31) — Blaine Gabbert took a step back in
Week 2. They need him to step up.

Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 30) — Competitive in Week 1, but took a
step backwards against a tough Texans team.

Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 32) — A decent D and
franchise back in MJD means very little without production at QB.

Bob Glauber (Newsday, 29) — Hold those Blaine-Gabbert-is-much-improved
stories. After a promising Week 1 showing in Minnesota, Gabbert throws
for just 53 yards in a home loss to Houston.

Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 32) — A crowd of 62,907 turned out
for the home opener by the Jaguars. A noncompetitive loss will likely
shrink those crowds in future weeks.

Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 30) — It's not Blaine Gabbert's sore
muscle that concerns me; it's his arm. Or maybe it's his head. Two
games into his second season, I'm wondering if the Jags have the
quarterback to take them anywhere but the next tee in January.

Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 29) — Nine punts, nine first downs —
welcome to the NFL's version of the Mendoza Line.

Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 32) — One good game for
Gabbert and the next week an 'injury' that puts him on the sideline.
This team needs MJD to carry them on offense. They are better than No.
32 but need to beat the Colts this week for a chance to move up.

John Lynch (Fox Sports, 31) — Jags outclassed and outmatched against
an excellent Texans team.

Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 31) — The fan who ran around the field
seemingly forever Sunday before getting tackled by lax EverBank Field
security during Jacksonville's 27-7 loss to Houston covered more
ground than the record-low 117 yards of offense the Jaguars produced.
Jacksonville's run defense also is floundering, having allowed an
average of 169.5 yards against the Texans and Vikings.

Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 31) — They look pretty inept offensively,
and it could be a long season in Jacksonville.
