NORMAL, Ala. (AP) — Justan Banks tallied a double-double and three other players scored 12 points each to lead Alabama A&M over Grambling State 78-53 Wednesday in the Southwestern Athletic Conference opener for both teams. Jeremy Crutcher, Green Hill, and Demarquelle Tabb scored 12 points apiece and Banks, a 7-foot-1 junior, finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Crutcher had nine assists and Tabb pulled down seven boards for Alabama A&M, which held a 46-31 rebounding advantage and dished out 22 assists. Alabama A&M (5-7) led by as much as 13 in the first half and by 39-30 at intermission. The Bulldogs opened the second half with a 19-5 run to take a 21-point lead, 58-37, with 13:18 to play. Alabama A&M, winners of two straight games for the first time this season, took its largest lead, 75-46, behind two Tyler Davis free throws. Terry Rose led Grambling State (0-10) with 19 points.
