Mike Eruzione, who captained the gold medal 1980 U.S. men's hockey team that stunned the Soviet Union, wants to see Mitt Romney a winner, too. At the GOP convention, Eruzione recalled Romney's role in saving the Winter Games in Salt Lake City in 2002 after they were rocked by scandal. "America desperately needs Mitt Romney's leadership today," said Eruzione. He spoke after three-time gold medalist Kim Rhode introduced a dozen Olympians supporting Romney. "I believe today that our country is off target," the skeet shooter said, calling for "new leadership." — Donna Cassata ___ EDITOR'S NOTE — Convention Watch shows you the 2012 political conventions through the eyes of Associated Press journalists.
