NOW, NOT LATER: The CEO of US Airways Group Inc. said the time for a merger with American Airlines is now, not after American comes out of bankruptcy protection.

AMERICAN'S RESPONSE: American said it will examine its merger options through "a disciplined process guided by the facts and will not be influenced by baseless rhetoric."
