QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (AP) — A former upstate New York school bus driver has been sentenced to three years of probation for placing duct tape over the mouth of a 7-year-old disabled girl. Marjorie Jones also will have to perform 100 hours of community service under a sentence handed down Monday by a town justice in Queensbury, on the southern edge of the Adirondacks. The 63-year-old woman could have spent up to a year in jail for the 2010 incident. The victim is unable to speak and has the cognitive abilities of a toddler. Jones apologized for her actions but said it was a "playful thing" and meant no harm. The Post-Star of Glens Falls reports (http://bit.ly/LJmQDL ) that Jones was served with a lawsuit from the parents of the girl as she left court.
