RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Berryville Graphics is planning to consolidate its book printing operations at its manufacturing facility and headquarters in Virginia's Clarke County, creating 84 jobs and preserving 81 others.

Gov. Bob McDonnell said Tuesday that the affiliate of German-owned Bertelsmann AG is investing $10.6 million for the Berryville consolidation.

McDonnell made the announcement after meetings with company executives in Germany as part of a 10-day European trade mission.

Berryville Graphics is one of the largest, fully automated, hardcover and softcover book manufacturers in the U.S. It produces nearly 120 million books each year at its Berryville manufacturing facility, which has been in Clarke County since 1956.

McDonnell approved a $200,000 performance-based grant from the Governor's Opportunity Fund to assist the project.
