STONY BROOK, N.Y. (AP) — Marcus Rouse came off the bench to score 16 points, and Jameel Warney had 12 points and 10 rebounds as Stony Brook defeated Vermont 65-48 Friday night in a matchup of the America East Conference leaders. Tommy Brenton added 13 points, six assists and six rebounds for the Seawolves (19-6, 10-2), who won their 16th consecutive regular-season home conference game. Stony Brook, which led 35-29 at halftime, started the second half with a 20-5 run. Warney scored eight of the Seawolves' first 13 points in that stretch. Rouse scored 11 of his points in the first half and finished the game 6 of 8 from the field, including 4 of 5 from 3-point range. Sandro Carissimo scored 14 points and Luke Apfeld 12 for Vermont (16-9, 9-4). Clancy Rugg, who scored 19 when the Catamounts beat Stony Brook 81-73 at home on Jan. 18, was scoreless this time.
