NEW YORK (AP) — Starformer and jockey Edgar Prado led every step of the 1½-mile Long Handicap Handicap on Saturday, the last major grass race of the year at Aqueduct. Racing well of the fence over the rain and snow softened course, Starformer earned her fourth win in 13 starts. The time was 2:33.13 in the stakes for fillies and mares. Starformer, a 4-year-old trained by Bill Mott, held on by a neck, paying $18, $9.30 and $5.90. The next two finishers were trained by Christophe Clement. Mystical Star returned $5.80 and $4.10 and Aigue Marine paid $7.40 to show.
