ATLANTA (AP) — The struggling Atlanta Braves have sent right-hander Kris Medlen to the minors with an eye toward starting and called up outfielder Jose Constanza. Medlen has been pitching out of the bullpen, but the Braves are concerned about the performance of starters Mike Minor and Randall Delgado. Minor is 2-4 with an ugly 6.98 ERA, while Delgado is 2-5 with a 4.53 ERA heading into Tuesday night's start against the St. Louis Cardinals. The Braves have lost eight in a row — their longest skid in more than two years. Constanza will move right into the lineup. He's playing left field and batting ninth as manager Fredi Gonzalez attempts to shake things up by using Delgado in the eighth spot. Martin Prado moves to third in place of injured Chipper Jones.
